Ten bands and artists from across the UK will perform original music on the Pump Room roof opposite Buxton’s Crescent on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July in a free event from 1 till 6pm. Greg and Elliot Smith the organisers commented that “We are delighted to have the opportunity to organise the event again following the success of previous years. Over 100 bands and musicians from across the UK have applied to perform in this stunning location. Pump Room Live returns thanks to support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Buxton Crescent and Thermal Spa Co Ltd, High Peak Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council who are funding the restoration of the Crescent and Pump Room. The event is also supported by Vision Buxton and the Old Hall Hotel.

The Pump Room was built in 1894 for the 7th Duke of Devonshire, phase one the restoration of this listed building is complete. In 2018 the Pump will become a source of information on characters linked to the Crescent and the heritage of the fascinating building and it’s spa history.
